Nuwara Eliya District is situated in Sir Lanka’s Central Province and characterised by a mountainous landscape with many deep valleys. It is also probably the best known tea producing part of Sri Lanka. With the highest average altitude and a crisp climate, the slow growing black teas produced here are considered to be some of the best in the world.
