ITEI Certified Tea Sommelier 3-Day Programme
The ITEI Certified Tea Sommelier certification has been designed specifically for hospitality professionals, with accreditation provided by both the International Tea Education Institute (ITEI) and EuropeanSpeciality Tea Association (ESTA). It will provide you with the confidence, knowledge and qualifications required to become a tea expert within food and beverage environments such as restaurants, hotels, and barista venues.
Entry Requirements
Whilst this qualification is an intermediate-level certification tea programme, it is suitable for those without any in-depth knowledge of tea as well as for people who wish to deepen their existing knowledge.
Course content
The ITEI Tea Sommelier course will be classroom based in London and will consist of 9 modules over 28 hours followed by 10 hours of home study and a final exam.
Upon successful completion of this Certification, students will receive a ITEI and ESTA Tea Sommelier Certificate and automatic enrolment into the valuable Tea Sommelier Alumni Group and discounted membership rates for ESTA, the leading European tea organisation, and your gateway to a wealth of tea industry knowledge, from tea growers to end consumers.
The programme covers the major tea types, tea grades, tea growing countries and different tea cultures from around the globe. There will also be a specific focus on a tea sommelier’s role, including tea and food pairing, tea mixology, afternoon tea services and managing tea menus from a business perspective.
